Much like the other tools, you can draw spline to paint the road in your world. The road needs RVT to draw on your landscape and is a completely non-destructive workflow. For an easy setup, I suggest you test in the demo scene with RVT enabled on the landscape material.
The road works in world space and is suited mostly for natural roads (no street roads)
To customize your road you can duplicate the MI_Road and change the settings inside it
Like all the other drawing tools, to access the road system you need to go into the scriptable tool (or shift+9) and select road.
Point Distance: The distance between each spline points. Adding more points can add more resolution to the shape you want to create but can make it harder.
Width (spline only): determine the width of the spline.
Road Material: You can use any road texture you want, note that it needs to be written to an RVT (see my road example that you can duplicate)
Physic Material: set up the physic material to use.
Additional note: if you want to customize your road material, note that I use the specular channel is reserved for the displacement, and roughness to mask the vegetation.
